Jackson with his buddy Colin. They played soccer together the very first year Jackson played soccer in U5. Now they are both U7.

Just Jack

All week Jackson has attended the UNM Lobos Soccer camp. He was in a great group of players. All of the kids here were awesome players. He was pushed to play his hardest and boy did he preform. His level of playing has been given a HUGE boost. It's amazing to see what a 6 year old can do. The last hour was all game play. They were placed on teams of four. There were 7 of the in the younger division. It was 6-9 in ages. He was one of two little guys on the team. they had a rough start losing two and tieing two on Monday to put them in last place at the end of the day. Day two was much better. They won one last one and the other two were a tie. They moved up to 6th. Then Day three was better winning two losing one and a tie in the fourth game. They moved up to 5th. Today was by far the best day. Jackson scored the winning goal in game one. Today it is single elimination so they get to move on. Game two was a tie. Because someone had to move on we get a tie breaker. Jackson nailed his goal shot and his team wins the tie breaker. They move on. YEAH Team Holland!!!! They go into the Finals. Wow the finals for a team that was in LAST place on Monday. This is where they lost but WOW did they do awesome. 2nd place for the week.

The Dive In

We went to a fun event called the Dive In. Swimming, Pizza, and a Movie (Finding Nemo) The kids needed a distraction while Michal was gone so this was a good event to go to. My little ones love to swim. It started at 7 so we only stayed until 9. The kids were tired. They had a blast swimming in the dark though.

Summer Camp YMCA Camp Shaver

Michal LOVED YMCA Summer Camp. A week of Harry Potter themed games and fun. He took four classes. Rock climbing, archery, riflery, and Frisbee Golf. He had a blast and is begging already to go again next year. He stayed in Cabin 7. He was there with his best friend JP aka Jackson P. They were bunk mates and took two of the classes together. He was put into the Hufflepuff house for the camp wide competitions and they got 2nd overall YEAH!!! It was worth every penny. :) It was a good thing I found all dirty clothes in his bag because I was crackin up that I was picking him up in the same thing I dropped him off in. LOL

So we had a busy Summer and jumped right into school. Jackson can read and do math in his head. Alexis knows her numbers, colors, and letters, and she is working on sounds. Michal is doing great and even learned linear equations. Michal won battle roads and two cities so far in pokemon and Jackson is loving indoor soccer. Michal is still into Pokemon and Legos. He even has a best friend now. Jackson loves anything Monster truck. Lexi really loves her Dora and super loves Tinkerbell.

Sterling is doing great at work. We call great that he has a job even after a round of layoffs. :)

My sweet Grandpa passed away this last weekend. he is oh so loved and will be dearly missed. I rejoice in the fact that he is in heaven with my sweet grandma.

She cut her hand on a broken mug. She had to have 4 stitches. On a better note Michal's team won their last game today by 1 point. Go Eagles!!!! So there is one prewound and smiley and then one after the fact.

We had so much fun skiing Friday the we went back today. So fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some are from Friday and some from Saturday. Michal did snowboarding Friday and tried skiing Saturday.

Michal did an amazing presentation today to his class on matter. He highlighted it's principles and properties. He also related it to energy. I was very impressed with his work and his teacher said it was amazing!! WTG Michal!!!!!!!!

Today we got a nice surprise at the door. Sterling's dad sent some gifts. It made Sterling smile so it made my day. So to the Hurts THANK YOU. And as a FYI that doll was a HUGE hit. These along with a couple of nature's toothbrushes came for the boys. They were thrilled. It has been a tough week for Michal. He is missing his Grandpa Scutt and Grandma Dee. These sure perked him up. He was crying by the time he got to the end of the letter. I know it sounds sad but it wasn't those were tears of happiness. I had just listened to him tell Clint he wanted them to come home. This package could not have arrived at a better time.

Quick update

Wow it has been one busy summer. Well the kids have had fun. Monday Michal starts at the Family School. it is a homeschool connection charter school. He is looking forward to it. He goes 8-12 Mon - Thurs.

We have jumped, swam, run, climbed, and so much more this summer. Jackson has learned to swim. He is a fish I swear. We set up a YMCA membership so we can swim year round. It is just behind our house and will be a great place for an escape.

I have lost 12 pounds. I dropped below the 200 mark and am now AIMing for the 190 mark. Almost there. My goal weight is 145. I know I can do it. Sterling has lost 14 pounds. He too wants to thin down a bit. Our anniversary is next week. 5 years and going strong!!!!!

Alexis is walking. She has all of the sudden grown up on us. She loved to be the baby and now all of the sudden she is Miss Independent. She chatters and sings and dances. There really is no better sight than watching your kids learn and love something.

Jackson is ready to start his homeschooling this year. He will officially be a Kindergartener. He would be in family school also but is too young.

Michal went to LA for 2 weeks this summer and spent lots of time playing with his cousin Nick. They got to go to summer camp together, swimming, pokemon, and ABQ jump. These two are going to need to be watched closely together as they grow up. I can just see them getting into some real trouble. They are a bit of a handful together.

So there's an update for now. I will post pictures this afternoon.

He was so cute in that brown shirt with that milk mustache. We all miss Michal. What I have seen in the last week has been that my 4 year old is capable of being a sweet 4 year old. So we have talked a bit about how it is good to want to be like his big brother but that he is 4 and does not need to grow up so fast. So we are all going to work on slowing down in this house.

Except Alexis who has decided to learn to walk and can now successfully take 5 steps.

Two weeks have flown by and OMG this kid has grown. He is doing things in water I could only imagine him doing in a few years. He is so comfortable going under the water. He can jump in and do all the crawls and walks he needs to know. He has been promoted to the Wave 1 session starting next week. He will be in the same class Michal takes. WOW.
